LONDON,UK COLLEGE CLINICAL HYPNOSIS

In Association with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis

Attachment: Its long-term effects, and the difference they can make to hypnotherapy sessions

2nd June 2013
Central London

Most of us spend significant amounts of time and money on training, advertising and promoting our practices in the hope that these investments will turn into clients. How frustrating, and costly, is it to then unexpectedly lose those same clients?

  • Why do some clients suddenly stop coming without explanation?
  • Why do some clients do their homework and others not?
  • Why are your internal (and sometimes external) responses to some clients really positive and others really negative?
  • Why are some clients emotional and others extremely rational?
  • How can you quickly identify whether your client will respond best to cognitive and analytical methods such as CBT or to traditional hypnotherapy?

In this one day CPD workshop, you will:
  • Discover answers to all the questions listed above.
  • Learn to quickly recognise different attachment patterns in the first few minutes of your initial consultation.
  • Learn to recognise and address potential difficulties that may arise with each client so that you can  respond promptly and appropriately.
  • Learn how incorporating this knowledge within your practice will help you to easily retain clients and increase your success rates.
I initially became interested in the subject of attachment whilst attending a counselling course. Initially, the information explained so much about my own patterns that it blew me away. Going on to apply this knowledge to my hypnotherapy practice has made a remarkable difference. It has significantly increased my success rate, thereby decreasing the amount I needed to spend on advertising. I know that others will also find it equally beneficial.

TORONTO PSYCHOANALYTIC SOCIETY

  1. tps&i Administration <psychoanalyst@bellnet.ca>
    17:57 (22 hours ago)

    Hello Colleagues,

This is a reminder to encourage colleagues, patients, and friends who are interested in knowing more about a psychoanalytic approach to therapy, to work, and to life to join a group in reading and discussing the literature in the relatively new, and very popular, Fundamental Psychoanalytic Perspectives Program (FPP).

All our classes are taught by analysts from our Institute, and cover a wide range of topics in 24 weekly Thursday evening seminars.  Freud is read in the original, and there are classes on object relations, self psychology, depression, anxiety, the defenses, and attachment theory, to name a few.  It is the perfect way to get an introduction to these theories of psychoanalysis.

Since this is not a training program, classes usually consist of an interesting mix of professions: clinical people (about 50%), lawyers, artists, computer people, and academics, which makes for extremely lively, open, and interesting discussion.  The educational requirement for entry into the Program is a Masters degree, or other professional degree. Personal therapy is, of course, an asset.  All applicants will be interviewed by a member of the Committee.

The starting date for the new class will be Thursday, September 12th, 2013.  Applications are due by May 31st, and are either downloadable from our website (www.torontopsychoanalysis.com) or can be obtained by calling Maria at 416-922-7770.

The FPP meets the accreditation criteria of the College of Family Physicians and has been accredited for 48 Main-Pro MI credits.  It has been recognized under Section One of the Framework for Maintenance of Certification of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Application fee: $150.00; Tuition fee: $1500.00.
Any questions?  Contact Sarah Usher (susherica@gmail.com).

We have had consistently positive reviews from class members for this Program—as it provides an enjoyable learning experience.

The Committee: Les Fleischer, PhD; Jan Malat, MD; Doug Ramsay, MD; Pamela Stewart, MD; Sharian Sadavoy, MSW; Sarah Usher,PhD (Director); Klaus Weidermann, PhD.
